How BHD Group collects, uses and protects your personal information under UK data protection law.

Last updated: 16 October 2026

BHD Group ("BHD Group", "we", "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains how we process personal information in line with the UK General Data Protection Regulation ("UK GDPR") and the Data Protection Act 2018. By using this website or our services you agree to the processing described here.

1. Who is responsible

BHD Group is the "data controller" for personal information collected through this website. You can reach our data protection contact at help@bisnet.co.za or on WhatsApp at +27 78 588 2931.

2. What we collect

  • Contact details you give us on the contact form or by email or WhatsApp: your name, email address, phone number and message.
  • Account and order details you provide when you order or manage services in the client area: contact and billing details, domain registration details, and invoice and payment history. These are handled on our client area platform (BisPanel).
  • Technical information such as IP address, browser type, pages visited and server logs, collected automatically for security and to keep the site running.
  • Search queries you type into our domain search, which we send to our systems to check availability.

3. Why we use it

  • To respond to your enquiries and provide support.
  • To register domains, provision hosting and deliver the services you order.
  • To invoice you, process payments and keep financial records as required by law.
  • To keep our website and systems secure and to prevent fraud and abuse.
  • To send service notices such as renewals, invoices and important changes. We only send marketing if you have agreed to it, and you can opt out at any time.

4. Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only where needed to deliver our services or comply with the law:

  • Domain registries and registrars, who require registrant details to register, renew or transfer a domain. Some registries publish part of this information in a public WHOIS directory.
  • Service providers that help us run our business, such as our billing and client-management platform, payment providers, email and messaging providers (including WhatsApp, if you contact us there), and infrastructure providers.
  • Authorities, where we are required to by law or a court order.

Some providers are located outside the United Kingdom. Where this happens we make sure your information is transferred and protected in line with UK data protection law, for example by using approved safeguards.

5. Cookies

This website uses only the cookies it needs to work, such as a session cookie to show you confirmation messages. Our client area may use additional cookies to keep you signed in. You can block cookies in your browser settings, but parts of the site may not work as intended.

6. How long we keep it

We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes above, or as the law requires. Financial and tax records are generally kept for at least five years. Enquiries that do not become customers are deleted within a reasonable period.

7. How we protect it

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information from loss, misuse and unauthorised access, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections and restricted access to our systems. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and if there is a breach affecting your information we will notify you and the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) as the law requires.

8. Your rights

Under UK data protection law you may:

  • ask us to confirm whether we hold your personal information and to give you a copy;
  • ask us to correct or delete information that is inaccurate, incomplete or unlawfully processed;
  • object to or restrict our processing of your information, including for direct marketing, and ask for your information in a portable format;
  • withdraw consent where we rely on it (this does not affect processing already done).

To exercise any of these rights, email help@bisnet.co.za. We may need to verify your identity first. Some information must be kept to meet our legal obligations, or to keep a domain registered in your name.

9. Children

Our services are not directed at children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information without the consent of a parent or guardian.

10. Complaints

If you believe we have not handled your information properly, please contact us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date above shows when it last changed. Continued use of our website or services after an update means you accept the revised policy.
